A little more about the places on my path to Endeavor Advising…

Pensacola, Florida

Where I was born and raised. Growing up in Northwest Florida is why you’ll hear me say y’all; having parents who each ran a small business inspired me to be an entrepreneur, too.

The World (Part 1)

Where I spent a gap year between high school and college. I participated in Up With People (you meet ‘em wherever you go), traveling in the US and Europe with 150 people from 26 different countries. That year lit a fire in me for out-of-the-box learning, cultural exchange, and meaningful travel.

Boston, Massachusetts | Nantes, France

Where I attended college. I graduated cum laude from the Arts & Sciences Honors Program at Boston College with a B.A. in Political Science and French, spending my junior year abroad in Nantes. My time at Boston College reinforced my passion for lifelong learning and my desire to help others. Go Eagles!

Houston, Texas | North Bend, Oregon | Atlantic City, New Jersey | Norfolk, Virginia | Maastricht, Netherlands

Where I lived as a military spouse while my husband, Bob, served in the US Coast Guard. In Houston, I learned that I thrive professionally in education, and in Oregon I first started working with college-bound students. After staying home with our two young boys in Atlantic City and Norfolk, I earned my M.S. in Global and International Education with a Higher Education focus from Drexel University while living abroad in Maastricht. My experiences in these years challenged me to be independent, resilient, and resourceful.

The World (Part 2)

Where my family and I spent a year backpacking. Our travels took us across Russia, through Mongolia, and around southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Favorite place? All of them. Most unusual thing I ate? It’s a tie between fermented mare’s milk (Mongolia) and fried tarantulas (Cambodia). Our “All Around the World” trip reminds me that with dreams and plans, amazing things are possible.

When I’m not working with students, I love cooking, being outdoors, beating my high score at Pacman or Super Mario Brothers, and dreaming about upcoming travel.

The only one of my college essays Meghan didn’t read 20+ years ago was the only one from which I got a rejection. She’s really good at her job! =)

Hi, I’m Meghan!

As a college counselor in two public high schools, for years I helped hundreds of students through the college admissions process— from researching, to completing applications, to applying for scholarships and financial aid. I saw how eager students were for clear, in-depth, and up-to-date guidance. I heard from students and parents that my help reduces stress and anxiety for the whole family.

I started Endeavor Advising to help students and families confidently and calmly navigate the college admissions process. I love the potential that high school students have, and I love helping them dream about, plan for, and realize their own unique endeavors.

Without Mrs. Moorhouse, I would not be attending the University of Chicago on a full scholarship. She supported me through every step of my applications, helping me refine essays, highlight my accomplishments, and stay motivated. I will always remember her excited shout and the huge hug she gave me, outshining everyone else’s reaction, when I revealed my acceptance.
